Mission Bay Whether we are painting a new building or your existing home, you can be rest assured that the paint will only go where it is supposed to. It is our policy to ensure that all your belongings are protected at all times with plastic sheets and your carpets are always covered with a unique adhesive plastic covering system that stays in place no matter what until the job is complete and then easily removed to reveal your carpets in the same condition as before we started. Diamond Decorators are qualified to remove lead based paints, before 1980, and especially before 1965, many house paints used in New Zealand had a high lead level. On many older houses the old paint may still be in place, painted over or flaking off. When old paint is removed, the lead in it may settle in dust or soil. You can get lead poisoning if you do not take care when you remove lead-based paint from the inside or outside of a building. Children, especially preschoolers, are particularly at risk from lead poisoning because they swallow bits of paint that contain lead or soil that has been contaminated. Even if a building has been recently painted, it may have layers of old paint covered by modern paint, this is why you should make sure you get a qualified painter who is licensed to remove lead based paint. There are a variety of methods we can use to remove the lead based paint, we will discuss these options when I come to give you a quote. Diamond Decorators also have test kits that we can use to see if your house contains lead. We also work outside of hours as was the case for the Bridgeway Cinema working around session times and the Cafe next door. |
